Works to upgrade and extend the computer studio facilities at Chambers Street in Maltings IT Studio 1 (Room 2.08) will start on Monday 6 April. In order to minimse the disruption to these resources, the contractor plans to do the work as quickly as possible starting with an intensive week of work (6-10 April). During this week access to these computing facilities will be suspended, but IT and large-format printing facilities will continue to be available in QDigital (Hunter Building) and BDigital (Main Building).

During the first week of intensive work, whilst access to the computing facilities will be suspended, access to lockers will be available via the back staircase. The existing kitchen will be stripped out and a drinking fountain installed along with extensive new trunking and wiring.

During the second week of the vacation (13-17 April) there are likely to be interruptions to power and data supply while the new wiring is commissioned. The area is being prepared for the move of existing ‘BDigital’ computing facilities from Lauriston in early June.

Throughout the work and until after degree hand-ins in May, the current IT and large-format printing facilities will continue to be available in QDigital (Hunter Building) and BDigital (Main Building).
