{"id":32,"date":"2011-11-01T15:27:00","date_gmt":"2011-11-01T15:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.blogs.hss.ed.ac.uk\/dg-study\/2011\/11\/01\/public-meetings\/"},"modified":"2018-05-11T15:23:47","modified_gmt":"2018-05-11T15:23:47","slug":"public-meetings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.blogs.hss.ed.ac.uk\/regional-ethnology-scotland\/2011\/11\/01\/public-meetings\/","title":{"rendered":"Public Meetings"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0cm; text-align: justify;\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.celtscot.ed.ac.uk\/EERC_home.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Ethnological Research Centre<\/a> (EERC) has now embarked upon a major new project to study the changing everyday life of the people of Dumfries and Galloway, over the centuries. This ambitious study, believed to be the first of its kind in the UK, will result in substantial publications in a variety of formats. It seeks to bring together research carried out by Dumfries and Galloway \u00a0inhabitants, academics and others sharing interests in such topics as the family, occupations, farming, land management, industry, population movement, communications, local administration, sports, place-names, religion, emigration and immigration, language, literature, folklore, art, music and song, and intellectual life.
