<\/p>\nCongratulations to Jaye Renold for recently winning a \u201cVisualising Sustainable Development\u201d competition organised by the University of Edinburgh\u2019s Sustainable Business Initiative. Jaye\u2019s illustration was inspired by a visit to Cairo\u2019s waste collectors, the Zabbaleen, in 2013.<\/p>\n
What does a sustainable world look like? During the University of Edinburgh\u2019s Innovative Learning week students were asked to share their perspective on sustainability through artistic expression \u2013 whether painting, photography, illustration, or sculpture \u2013 in order to show how they understand and interpret sustainability.<\/p>\n

Entries were judged by Dr Kenneth Amaeshi (Director of Sustainable Business Initiative), John Brennan (Head of Edinburgh School of Architecture), and Ben Twist (Director of Creative Carbon Scotland).<\/p>\n Jaye is a fourth year Social Anthropology student who has recently completed a dissertation on street recyclers in Chile.
